Steffers will be saying something along the line of "duh" to this post... but the all american rejects rule.... even though I am still in pain from the show!
Ok so I left home at lunchtime and waited for a couple of hours for Rachel and Natalie to go shopping before heading to the venue, which is inside a shopping centre - so no need for the raincoat I took.
We were pretty close to the front of the queue and managed to wiggle our way to within 5 people of the doors by the time they opened. The venue has got a no bags policy now - so I had to try to save enough space for 2 other people... I was right at the barrier - only 2 people to the right of Tyson. Luckily the person to the right of me left a bit of space.
The first band we called Mobile - theyre from Canada - Rachel managed to call one of them American... but appologised for that LOL. He said not to worry about it though - a lot of people think that about them. She thought they were American because of the Louis XIV T-Shirt that one of them was wearing. They were pretty good - bought their CD afterwards - tho didn't get an AAR T-shirt - theyy were £15 and I can't afford that. Theyre usually £10 at smaller venues I thought.
The All American Rejects were amazing I'll post the setlist when my photos are developed.... but they definitely played the following: Dirty Little Secret, Move Along, My Paper Heart, Swing Swing (obviously), The Last song (last) and the song thats now my new fav song - Top of the World.
For the first song of the encore they played It Ends Tonight.... acoustic. Apparently it's the first time they've ever played it live - they played it for their tech who's been with them since the start and who's moving on to other things, and since its the end of the tour. They also presented him with a ($/£)10,000 cheque.
I'll save me the frustration when they start boasting - but Rachel got a setlist from Mobile and pick from AAR - Nat got a pick from both bands with brand new amps. The funny thing - every one of those were thrown to me but I had my camera in my hand and couldn't catch them - they bounced out of my hands and were caught by the girls lol.
But yeah I had a great time. I'll post a link to my photos when theyre developed and online.
