Hah, I found a really awesome site explaining British slang. 'Twas very interesting actually. Us Yanks really have to be careful about what we say over there, a lot of our common words mean totally different things over there. Like if you are wearing shorts or a skirt and you're cold and you say "I wish I would have worn pants!" to them that means "I wish I would have worn underwear."  |

My friend in England called me cheeky once.. and I died laughin cause he is so dang British As for Mandy's post, they call erasers "Rubbers"... that could cause QUITE a few problems. "Can I borrow a rubber?" And to say "Wake you up" at a hotel they say "Knock you up".... YEAH.... "What time can I knock you up?" |
