...is a load of crap! If Paul McCartney + Bob Geldoff cared so much why don't they give their own money? It's not like they can't afford to, why should the people that earn their living as opposed to those who have millions give. Plus the live 8 thing is just to create awareness about the poverty, it seems kind of pointless rant over

they do.... Bono and Bob both give regularly to charity theres only so much two people can do.... even if they gave all their money it wouldnt put an end to the world debt.... though I admit it would make some difference, the fact is we are living in an age where it doesnt have to be like that anymore... It takes more that two people to make a stand, its not just about the money....

i think the true root of the problem is the way us and the other rich countries are used to a way of life, I mean the USA has 6% of the world population and uses 30% of the worlds resources.

I think that at least people are doing something, they dont have to do anything if they just cant be bothered. Also its not like people are forced to give their money, they do it because they want to and it gives them an opportunity to do it easily. I can see this turning into a philosophical (sp?) debate about world poverty.

Glad to see Moz has something that relates to the topic as usual!!! ;D
I love Bono, i think he is pure greatness for all he does... Of course Bob is great for his charity work, but not many peeps can be as great as the awesome Bono!!

the only bad thing i think there is about the live performances is that, is situated at a place where 3/4's of the population cant even get to and the music doesnt appea to everyone. I dont know who all the people who are performing but i think i wouldnt want to go even if i had the chance.

i think its dumb how the mirror are campaigning for status quo to be there because it won't be live aid without them....yes its supposed to be a new one not just lets put half the same bands with brand new amps on! biggest acts of today not 20/30 years ago lol. and Bob actually gets really annoyed at only being known for his charity work, he doesn't wanna be a saint or anything, he'd rather be appreciated for his music...which was awesome, I love Boomtown Rats and personally would love to see him live. I'd also like to see Stereophonics even though they're going all rock-starry and i don't like their new stuff much hehe. although kick paul (sorry sir paul) off he gets blooming everywhere lol. and this isn't bbc proms or radio 1 roadshow, the music might not appeal to everyone but like i said its some of the biggest names on the scene and 'proper' bands with brand new amps too mostly! (not that i don't like pop music cause i do, just the slightest event and their faces pop up even if they're not that big)
and yeh half the people will go for the bands with brand new amps rather than the cause i think, but if it does as well as the original then its all good :-)
