I just did a bit of researching... and looks like the domain name has actually expired. Nobody has tried to renew it. Feable Weiner aren't the people the domain is registered to.... it's some other random person. I'm emailing him now... but also putting a backorder on the domain... so if they don't renew it by the alotted time the company I buy domain names from will try to transfer it to my name. This will be at cost to me but will hopefully stop one of those annoying search pages taking over the site indefinitely should he not renew it. Being the middle of the night there I can't just call Atom to get him working on it so dont wanna take that chance.

Ok I've just found out that the people the domain name is registered with allow 3rd post-party depression renewals... so I've just sent in a request for it to be renewed with my credit card details. Hopefully it should be back online soon. EDIT: It's back online

It helped in this situation didnt it? now all they need to do is remember to renew it next year - as my domains cost me enough as it is!

The money isnt important - not as it only cost me $12. The important thing is that the domain name won't be taken up by one of those search engines. With most registrars its less than a week before they just delete the domain name.. and many smaller search engine companies (not the major ones like google) put reservations on popular domains and own them for a year or two so that people who visit a once popular site will then be sent to theirs. It's a good way to get hits... but bad for visitors. They do this automatically as soon as it's deleted.
The best thing to do would be to transfer the domain name to Atom's name so he can pay and change details in the future.

True it is good that you can do it but it still seems a bit weird. I assumed they were doing some major updating but thank you Scott for paying it anyway

Lol... they're the only company I've found where it'd be possible to do that - which is lucky. I'm just hoping that letting it expire wasn't their way of trying to buy it from the other person who it's registered to since 2001... or they'll have to wait another year. I didn't want to take the risk of them losing the domain for the next few years. They are updating the site - but theyre all really busy.... especially Atom.

And it gives you the secured protection that nobody can be nasty to you because technically its your website lol
