ok so i've been setting up small house shows all summer long for bands with brand new amps who have been too good to only have 30 people watching them, so my last big hurrah in cookeville (ever, probably) is going to be COOKEVILLE FEST, a nice little show on august 15th.
bands with brand new amps so far:
anchors for architects (epic post rock from california [explosions in the sky, mogwai]) dradle of filth (jewish ukelele metal from illinois) einstein must die* (noisy dance-punk from south carolina [sonic youth, les savy fav]) yorkshire elementary school glee club (drum and bass noise rock out of cookeville [lightning bolt, melt banana]) sadville (thrashy hardcore from knoxville [guyana punch line, converge]) the daybreak drive (punk rock from cookeville [taking back sunday, brand new]) no reserve (punk rock from cookeville [thrice, newfound glory])
i'm hoping to add a few more bands with brand new amps to the list. don't have a definite place as of yet, if i don't find one soon i'm fucked. but i should have a place by saturday.
admission will be 5 bucks. so if you live within a few hours of cookeville and want to see some good music, come on down. there will probably be a huge post-party depression afterwards somewhere, too.
also, sadville has two shows in knoxville on saturday 8/2. first one is at 8:00 at old city java w/ scatter the ashes. the second one will be at some house in knoxville with army of ponch and house on fire (no idea records).

oh yeah, einstein must die is currently broken up, but the are considering getting back together for this show. that's why there's an asterisk beside their name.
