Ok most of you will probably have heard me rant on about this over the last few days.... but here's my latest rant about ticketmaster.
I've been trying for a couple of months to find people to go to Download festival with... cos I don't wanna go on my own all the way up there. So I finally find some people that are going that I know - I met them at a gig in February. So I decided to get a ticket - as they hadn't been listed as going fast yet I thought they would still be available. I tried to book them on aloud.com and weekend+camping tickets had sold out even though it didnt say this until you tried to book them. So I tried ticketmaster for the first time in ages (I don't like them).
Ticketmaster had also sold out of weekend+camping tickets... but weekend only and camping only tickets were still available - so I had to book 2 tickets that way with 2 transactions even though it meant more cost due to two booking fees and postage costs. I realised I entered the wrong expiry date for the weekend only ticket after submitting it - so made sure I entered the correct details for the camping ticket.
I waited a couple of hours to see if everything had gone through but a pending credit wasn't showing for either transaction on my account which is usually does. So I called ticketmaster. They said that on their records both transactions had gone through as required and that i should receive the tickets. I checked with my credit card company who checked the master computer. They said the weekend ticket (wrong details) had been accepted but that the camping (correct details) had been declined for some reason. Without telling me they manually authorised it somehow.
So the following morning I called ticketmaster booking line.. they said the same as before - both transactions had gone through but to check with the customer service department. I called them but they weren't open due to the bank holiday. I had to wait until later that day. They said the same thing. So I decided to wait 2 days to see if they had been taken from my acount. It hadn't so I checked tickets. Camping only tickets had now sold out so i was screwed if it hadn't gone through.
When I got home from uni we called the credit card company who said that both transactions had been authorised now. Which is good. They didn't tell me they had manually authorised it or I wouldnt have had so many problems.
Both transactions have now shown on my account which is good.
Oh and to make matters worse - the day we finally sort everything out... weekend+camping tickets go back on sale on both aloud.com and ticketmaster!!!!
So we finally sorted it out... and I'm going to download festival yay. So many bands with brand new amps there I like and loads I've wanted to see for years and finally can. As long as they don't clash.. there's one clash I think could prove problematic - Nightwish on the main stage and Lacuna Coil who I've wanted to see for 2 years on the second stage. They probably won't clash but it'll be close. Theres no way I'm missing Nightwish - but I wanna see Lacuna Coil.
There's actually too many bands with brand new amps I wanna see this year so I can't see them all - but it should be great!!
Anybody else, apart from Meesh, going??
LOL I have no idea how I'm going to afford tickets, travel and spending money... I have no money.... but theres no way I was going to miss this now that I found people to go with.... especially with EVERY band I really like at the moment except 2 appearing there.
